Distribution involving the filling of a Kudanetula Tank

Distribution involving the filling of a Kudanetula Tank

ABOUT MY VILLAGE

My village is a very Beautiful Village. It is situated in Monaragala District and Uva Province. As wel as My Village is Located on the border of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces. These two provinces are separated by the Welioya River, a tributary of the Walawe River. At Present there are about 150 families living in our village. Farming is the main Source of income for the people of our village. The water required for this is supplied through the Kudanetula Tank. About 92 Acres of paddy fields are fed by this tank. Successful harvests are possible during the two Yala and Maha Seasons as water is supplied through this lake. A large number of tanks including the Kudanetula tank are fed by the irrigation system created by crossing the Welioya River.

OUR PROBLEM IS,

However, due to the flooding of the Kudanetula wewa, the villagers are facing the threat of a reduction in the percentage of water released from it. Due to this, it has not been possible to provide proper water supply during the dry season. It is a big threat to the farming activities in the village. A small number have recently been restored, but a large number remain. Due to this, 92 acres have been blocked from storing sufficient water. Now, all those lands are being irrigated with difficulty or if this is not done properly then water supply will never be possible. As a result, it is the innocent farmers who are helpless.

POSSIBLE ACTIONS FOR THIS

We can prevent it. It is imperative that the relevant authorities be made aware and rehabilitated with the interest of the villagers. Here, we can offer some solutions.

*   1.Awareness of the authorities;

    The uthorities can be informed about the current condition of the tank and necessary advice can be obtained here.

  The villagers can do this of their own free will. The support of the villagers is essential here.Here we can do your own labor contribution and even provide machinery.

*  3. Taking steps to rehabilitate the lake with the cooperation of both the villagers and the authorities;

 The support of the authorities and the villagers is essential. This work can also be done in collaboration with institutions such as the Road Development Authority, Irrigation Authority. These institutions can also work with the contribution of their own labor contribution. In this way it is possible to carry out this task very successfully with the labor contribution of the villagers and with the patronage of the Government.

*   4. Taking actions to allocate government funds for the rehabilitation of the tank;

If the government does not pay attention to this, a letter requesting government assistance can be sent here. Villagers can be asked to take the lead or ask for the necessary funds.

 5. If all of the above fail, launch a campaign demanding compensation;

 Although this should not normally be done, it is not a mistake to make this decision for the future of the villagers. If the above is not resolved in any way, this decision can be taken to open the eyes of the authorities.

If the above solutions are successful, it will be possible to reap the benefits of the Yala, Maha Season. Therefore, it is imperative to restore this tank. Unity is essential to do all this. It is difficult for an individual to do such a great thing. Only the villagers can catch the eye of the authorities.

In this way, the main objective of this project is to finally solve the problem related to the filling of this tank which is currently the cup in our village. The success or failure of this project will undoubtedly determine the future of the village.

Memories that will never be forgotten...

  A School Trip.... 😍😍😍 It was one of the best and most exciting trips I 've ever been to during my school days.  It's a two day trip.We were so happy.    We went to Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa.  We left at about four in the morning because of a long journey.We had a lot of fun singing all the time coming and going. We first went to Kalawewa. We had fun singing there too. Also, our accommodation was near Kalawewa. I will never forget that night. because we had so much fun.   We prepared our own meals for those two days. Everyone worked in harmony. The first night we cooked near Kala Wewa. We had breakfast and lunch there and left. Went to all the important places in Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa. Talked to the aborigines of Mahiyangana. It was also a special experience.  For so many reasons like this I will never forget that trip.
